Update the app and plugins
Keep the MotionUI app, Figma plugin and After Effects panel working together.
MotionUI app updates can include new versions of both plugins. The app and panel use separate version numbers, so their numbers do not need to match.
Update the MotionUI app
Open Settings in MotionUI.
Under App updates, click Check now and follow the update prompt.
Enable Download and install automatically if you prefer automatic app updates.
Refresh both plugins
Save your After Effects project and close After Effects so a waiting panel update can install.
Check the After Effects tab in MotionUI. Enable Keep the panel current, or use the available panel update button.
Close MotionUI inside Figma and run the plugin again. If the app asks you to prepare the local files again, use Copy again.
Reopen After Effects and its MotionUI panel.
When commands are missing
An older app or plugin can still open but lack newer import actions. Update all parts of the connection before troubleshooting the command itself.
