Figma import
Send a Figma selection to After Effects
Move frames or layers into the open composition, with editable elements where supported.
Use Send selection for your normal design import. It brings supported text, shapes and vector paths into After Effects as editable layers. Artwork that needs an image representation can be imported as an asset.
Send your first design
Keep MotionUI running on your computer. Open the MotionUI plugin in the Figma file and the MotionUI panel in After Effects.
Select the frames or layers you want to send in Figma.
Open the destination composition in After Effects if you want to add to an existing scene.
Click Send selection in the Figma plugin. You can also trigger Send selection from the Figma tab of the After Effects panel.
Check Recent imports in the MotionUI app while the selection is read and built.
Where does it go?
With an open composition, the selection is added there. Without an open composition, MotionUI creates a composition from the frame. To force a separate composition, use New comp in the Figma plugin.
Do I need Claude?
No. Sending a selection works directly between Figma and After Effects through the MotionUI app. Connect Claude when you want help creating or animating the scene.
