Figma import
Choose Single or Groups as precomps
Decide how your imported layers are organised in After Effects.
The Layers setting controls the structure of an import. It is shared between the MotionUI app and the connected import tools.
Single
Use Single to bring elements into the composition as individual layers. This is useful when you want direct access to cards, labels, icons and other UI elements for animation.
Groups as precomps
Use Groups as precomps to place top-level Figma groups into separate precompositions. This keeps larger interface sections together while letting you open each precomp to work on its contents.
Choose before sending
Open the Figma tab in MotionUI or the import controls in the connected plugin or panel.
Set Layers to Single or Groups as precomps.
Select the source design and send it again. The choice applies to the new import.
Keep the source organised
Name your Figma frames and groups clearly before importing. Grouping is useful for sections you expect to animate together, such as a sidebar, a card group or a dialog.
