Create a new composition from Figma
Start a separate scene and understand how its size and timing are chosen.
New comp in the Figma plugin always creates new compositions instead of adding the selection to the open composition.
Create the scene
Select your source frame or frames in Figma.
Run MotionUI in that file and keep the MotionUI app open.
Click New comp in the Figma plugin.
Open the imported composition in After Effects and review its dimensions, frame rate and duration.
Size and timing
The new composition uses the Figma frame size. Its frame rate and duration come from the active After Effects composition, or the latest composition when there is no active one. Set up the timing you want in After Effects before importing if you need a specific frame rate or length.
Add to an existing scene instead
Open the destination composition and use Send selection. The simplified import interface chooses the destination from your action and the open composition, so there is no separate new, empty or active target selector to configure.
