Install MotionUI on Mac or Windows

MotionUI is available for macOS and Windows. Use the desktop app as the starting point for plugin setup and connection status.

Install on macOS

1. Download the Mac version of MotionUI.

2. Open the disk image and move MotionUI to Applications.

3. Open MotionUI, then use the After Effects and Figma tabs to set up the plugins.

Install on Windows

1. Get the Windows installer supplied with your MotionUI release or purchase.

2. Run the installer and follow its installation steps.

3. Open MotionUI, then use the After Effects and Figma tabs to set up the plugins.

Connect your creative tools

Use Figma desktop for the local plugin setup. Run MotionUI inside the Figma file you want to work with and open the MotionUI panel in After Effects. Keep the desktop app running during the Figma workflow.

Choose an AI client

Use Claude Code or Codex with the MotionUI tools connected. Ordinary ChatGPT and Claude chats are not supported clients for this MotionUI workflow. If you use Claude Code inside the Claude desktop app, choose the Code environment.

The AI connection is optional for direct Figma imports and the panel’s manual animation tools. Figma, After Effects and the coding agents have their own accounts and licence requirements.
