Fix an import that looks different

Figma and After Effects use different rendering systems. Review an imported scene before adding animation, especially if it contains complex fills, masks or text effects.

Text looks different

Check that the required font is installed and available in After Effects. Some text styling is not carried across in the same form. For example, text with gradient fills or certain effects can be exported as an image, and underline or strikethrough is not carried over by the current collector.

A complex element is wrong

Try Rasterize selection for that element when visual appearance matters more than editing its internal shapes. Keep the rest of the scene as editable layers with Send selection. Rasterized layers have a fixed resolution, so check any planned zoom.

The layout does not fill the comp

Compare the Figma frame size with the destination composition. Use New comp to start with the frame dimensions, or Create frame from comp to begin a Figma design at the required size. An existing composition with a different aspect ratio is not a promise of a stretched, edge-to-edge match.
